Texture is either actual or implied.
Actual texture is physically able to be felt through our sense of touch. Implied texture gives the impression of texture visually, but cannot be felt by touch. It is only suggested by our eyes.
In graphic art and design we use texture that is implied. Implied texture is created through the use of value.
In the assignment following we applied the above information. Using multiple steps in Adobe Illustrator we created a monster character that demonstrates texture. In each element of this process we considered value and its gradual contrast change.
Along with creating the Monster, we wrote short stories describing them.
